Car Seats Have Expiration Dates. Get $100 Off & Free Shipping on the True Fit Car Seat!
Written by Carrie Pacini on June 11, 2008 – 1:38 pm -
Did You Know that Car Seats Expire Six Years from the Date of Manufacture?
Am I the only one who didn’t know this? You can find the expiration on one of the labels located on the side or bottom of the car seat. If there’s no expiration date listed, use the date of manufacture plus 6 years. I have Learning Curve to thank for my new found knowledge.
Big Thanks to Learning Curve
They sent me a True Fit Car Seat to try out and I have to say I really love it. It was easy to set up, I never have to adjust the harness, and my friend Marla was able to fasten my daughter in fast. Those who know Marla, can guess why this is worth mentioning. Fact: She went with me to pick up my son from school, and you would have thought she was an alien visiting planet Earth. But seriously, this True Fit Car Seat is the “luxury cruiser” in car seats. I can use it until my daughter reaches 65lbs. It really is the only car seat you’ll ever need. Unless it’s been seven years and/or you have another child.
So Check This Out!
Learning Curve has launched a group on www.opmom.com, called Safe & Fun Family Travel. This group is focused on family travel with tips on managing your children and keeping them occupied, as well as car seat safety. Oh and it gets even better! * $100 Off & Free Shipping on the True Fit Car Seat * The first 100 moms to join the group, take the survey, and qualify will get $100 off & free shipping on the True Fit Car Seat ($200 value). To learn more about this program, visit www.opmom.com/learningcurve
All participants will receive free product samples, or deep-discounts on certain items, and will be invited to discuss their experiences and feedback in an open setting. This makes for honest mom-to-mom reviews in real life scenarios. Once you join, say hi to Heidi, one of our very own OpMom members, who is the official Mom Leader for this program.
If you’re not in need of a car seat, share this with a friend so they can be one of the first mamas on the block to own the “Mercedes” of car seats!

SWEET! Parent & Child magazine recommends OpMom.com
Written by Carrie Pacini on April 23, 2008 – 12:05 pm -I had NO idea of this until Robin, a friend of mine, was at the dentist office thumbing through magazines. She calls me and literally is like:
Robin: Carrie! Holy Crap! Great Job!
Me: (with a croissant in my mouth) – What?
Robin: OpMom
Me: Uhhuh, yes, what are you talking about?
Robin: OpMom is in Parent & Child magazine as one of the top 5 Social networking sites for moms.
Me: WHAT? (on the web searching for this article)
IT’S TRUE!
Turns out, OpMom was ranked as the recommended #3 “Mom-Friendly Social Networks” out there. YAY, it does exist! Check it here. Let me just say that I was already a big fan of this magazine, but now, even more! I really like that the focus of P&C magazine is something my husband and I are really big on, and that’s building that link between home and school.
I feel like OpMom is my third child and I can’t say enough how happy I am that one of my favorite reads thinks it’s pretty cool too. Also, congrats to the other 4 sites listed: BigTent.com, MothersClick.com, MomSpace.com, and 5minutesformom.com.
THANK YOU Jaine Murphy and Parent & Child magazine! : )

Written by Marla Trevino on April 18, 2008 – 10:14 am -Yes, I know we have twittered this a few times, but now we want to shout it to anyone who might of missed it the first few times, plus give some background info.
Family Matters Radio and OpMom have partnered to continue the conversation off-air. And in kicking it off our very own host of OpMom, Carrie Pacini was the featured guest on April 12. The Moms 2.0 talk was AWESOME and we want to say thanks to Caroline and Jacquie for the show!
Who is Family Matters Radio?
FMR features nationally recognized guests, newsmakers, celebrities, and best selling authors that talk about things that matter to you and your family.
Now your able to share your thoughts on these topics, ask questions and get answers from the hosts, Caroline and Jacquie themselves.
Great Recent Talks
Just to give you a glimpse of topics FMR hosts, in a March 2008 show, they talked with Kristine Carlson, wife of Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff author Richard Carlson, about her husband’s sudden death and the importance of treasuring each day as an incredible gift.
And in a February 2008 show, they spoke with Dr. Greg Baer about The Secret to Real Love.
In the words of Jacquie, “With our partnership with Opmom we are turning on the microphones for you. This is your chance to “sound off” about hot topics that you care about – sometimes these are issues in the news. But mostly they are things that women like us and like you are thinking about.”

Every great launch deserves a cool party! Our 6-month beta testing period was a huge success, during which OpMom secured a partnership with Sony Pictures.
