The Ultimate Latina Luncheon

AMAZING is what comes to mind when I think about the 7th Annual Latin Women’s Initiative Luncheon and Fashion Show. It was at the elegant Intercontinental Hotel in Houston TX. Our good friend, Misty Khan, CEO of Advena Artemis so graciously invited the OPMOM gals to the see and be seen at the event of the year. The Houston Socialites were out in full force, so you know this has to be true.

The fashion show featured the work of acclaimed designers: Pineda Covalin & Edgardo Luengas.  Personally, I was in awe of every moment. From the first step into the lobby, imagine Mariachi’s playing, people mingling, and champagne drinking . It was so festive… and in the middle of the afternoon made it all the better. I immediately knew I was eternally grateful to experience this event first hand. It was so refreshing to meet these fine ladies who were welcoming, classy, and dressed impeccably. This was the PERFECT event to showcase rich vibrant colors and big sparkly jewelry!

Right up until they topped it by bringing out the tequila and dessert plate. Seriously, anywhere they serve me a shot of tequila during a fashion show luncheon will forever rank in my top 5. The show was so exciting and dramatic, and sitting there at table 47 felt like I was in a season finale episode of Project Runway.

We met so many amazing ladies. Thank you Misty for sharing this experience with us! The organizers of this event did a fantastic job at making this an affair to remember. See a few of our pictures from the event.

I hope this gets you motivated to see what you have been missing too. I know it opened my mind to new ideas and fresh new avenues. The moral to this story is to make sure and venture out and see what local organizations are doing to help your community, you might just be surprised with what you find. Accept all invitations to any cultural experiences and find out what your city is made of.
